The following post is by Lenna Wyatt, guest writer, friend, resident of Phoenix, and a believer in Jesus…not just a Christmas, either. Please give her thoughts careful consideration.
WE CHRISTIANS MUST QUIT SITTING BACK WATCHING OUR EXPRESSIONS OF FAITH BEING CHIPPED AWAY LITTLE BY LITTLE, AND WITH THE HELP OF MANY JUDGES. wE NEED TO JOIN TOGETHER TO PUT AN END TO THE PUBLIC INTOLERANCE TOWARD US. ATHEISTS ACT AS IF WE DON’T HAVE THE SAME RIGHTS THAT THEY DO. IT MAKES ONE WONDER HOW JUST 2% WIELD SO MUCH POWER AND WHY THEY ARE SO AFRAID OF GOD.
THE THING IS, WE LIVE HERE, TOO. THEREFORE, EVERY TIME A PROTEST FROM ANTI-CHRISTIANS PRESENTS ITSELF, WHETHER TO PROHIBIT A SNEEZE BLESSING, BIBLE READING IN PUBLIC; PRAYER AT SCHOOL FUNCTIONS; CROSSES AT THE GRAVE SITES OF SOLDIERS ON A HILLSIDE OR THE DESERT; THE NAME OF GOD IN A PLEDGE; ON COINS, ON JEWELRY OR CLOTHING WHEREVER WORN; THE MERRY CHRISTMAS GREETING; SHARING WHAT WE BELIEVE WITH THOSE WHO WANT TO LISTEN IN THE PUBLIC SQUARE; OR ANY REVERENT EXPRESSION OF THE NAME OF JESUS, DO THIS:
CALL, BLOG, OR SEND AN EMAIL TO, OR ABOUT THE PERPETRATOR’S PROTEST AND LET THERE BE A CRY ACROSS THE LAND CONSTANTLY FOR OUR RIGHT TO FREEDOM “OF” NOT “FROM” RELIGION THAT THE CONSTITUTION GUARANTEES TO EVERYONE. TELL THEM THAT WE LIVE HERE, TOO. ~~Lenna Wyatt
This is not the time for Christians to be apathetic, if ever there was a time. Edmund Burke said it best: “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”
Unfortunately, the last acceptable prejudice is against Christians. Our comfort comes from knowing that if we suffer with Christ, we will also reign with Him. What a wonderful hope. Meanwhile, as Lenna wrote, we cannot let our Christian values and worldview be attacked by anyone. She calls us to action…so did Jesus. He said, “Occupy, until I come again.” If you know anything about history, you know that the occupiers of various countries around the world never remained silent.
If you could do anything to change the attitudes regarding Christians, what might you do? What have you done in defense of your faith? Your story will encourage others. Won’t you share your experience? Has the chipping away helped you in any way? God bless you.
Merry Christmas and a late Happy Chanukah!
